Mexico: Consumer confidence falls in January
Consumer confidence came in at 43.4 in January, down from December’s 44.4, amid surging Covid-19 cases linked to Omicron. The reading was the result of consumers becoming more pessimistic regarding their personal economic situation over the past year, their personal economic situation over the next year, the general economic situation of the country over the past 12 months and the general economic situation of the country over the next 12 months. Consumers also grew less willing to make major purchases.
