Mexico: Inflation holds stable in September
Consumer prices climbed 0.23% over the previous month in September, which was below the 0.33% increase logged in August. September’s moderation was primarily driven by a softer rise in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, and housing and utilities.
Inflation held steady at August’s 4.0% in September, thus remaining at the upper limit of Banxico’s target range of 2.0%–4.0%. Meanwhile, annual average inflation ticked up to 3.3% in September (August: 3.2%). Likewise, core inflation remained stable at the previous month’s 4.0% in September.
