Mexico: Inflation slips in June
Consumer prices rose 0.06% from a month earlier in June, contrasting the 0.29% month-on-month decline in May. According to the Statistical Institute (INEGI), June’s rebound largely reflected higher prices for recreation and culture, and health.
Inflation fell from 4.3% in May to 3.9% in June, thus landing within Banxico’s target range of 3.0% plus or minus 1.0 percentage point. Meanwhile, annual average inflation ticked down to 4.5% in June from 4.6% the previous month.
