Mexico: Inflation edges down in October
Consumer prices rose 0.52% from a month earlier in October, heating up from their 0.42% month-on-month increase in September. Higher fuel costs were behind the reading. Core consumer prices—which exclude volatile categories such as fresh produce and energy—increased 0.31% month-on-month in October, roughly in line with September’s 0.32% uptick.
Inflation ticked down to 4.9% in October (September: 5.0%). Meanwhile, core inflation was stable from September at 3.7%.
