Mexico: Remittances jump in March
Remittances inflows totaled USD 2.9 billion in March, an 8.3% increase from the USD 2.7 billion inflow recorded in the same month a year ago. A resilient U.S. economy, as well as continued gains in U.S. non-farm payrolls, helped support inflows.
In the 12 months up to March, remittances totaled a record-high of USD 34.0 billion, up from the USD 33.8 billion recorded in the 12 months up to February.
On a month-on-month basis, remittances rose 21.3% (February: USD 2.4 billion).
