Netherlands: Business confidence improves but remains pessimistic in August
Business confidence rose to minus 5.4 in August from July’s minus 8.7. August’s result marked the best performance since March. As such, the index moved closer to the 0-threshold, but still indicated pessimism among businesses.
The uptick in sentiment was driven by less negativity regarding order books and stocks of finished goods. On the other hand, producers were more downbeat regarding output.
