Netherlands: Consumer confidence increases in September
Consumer confidence rose to minus 39.0 in September from August’s minus 40.0. Despite the uptick, the index remained entrenched below the 0-threshold, indicating pessimism among consumers.
Households became less reluctant to make large purchases. Meanwhile, their views about their financial situations over the next 12 months remained unchanged from August. That said, consumers were slightly more pessimistic about the economy in the year ahead.
