Netherlands: Economic sentiment increases in November
Economic sentiment came in at 96.1 in November, up from October’s 93.2. November’s result marked the best performance since April. Despite the uptick, the index remained entrenched below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a downbeat near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected improved sentiment in the industrial, services and construction sectors. Meanwhile, sentiment in the retail sector was unchanged in the surveyed month. Lastly, consumer confidence rose in November.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations improved, while the economic uncertainty index decreased in November.
