Netherlands: Economic sentiment falls in July
Economic sentiment fell to 99.6 in July from June’s 99.8. As a result, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected deteriorating sentiment in the industrial sector and waning confidence in the services sector. Meanwhile, July saw stronger sentiment in the construction sector, and sentiment in the retail sector rose in the surveyed month. Lastly, consumer confidence was up in July.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations improved, while the economic uncertainty index decreased in July.
