Netherlands: Harmonized inflation decelerates in July
Harmonized inflation decelerated to 5.3% in July, below June’s 6.4%. Food prices increased at a softer pace, while housing and utilities prices fell. That said, prices for recreation and restaurant and hotels increased at a sharper pace, while prices for transport declined at a softer pace.
The trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 9.5% in July (June: 10.1%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation declined to 4.6% in July, from June’s 5.7%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices increased 1.16% over the previous month in July, contrasting the 0.49 decline recorded in June.
