Netherlands: Harmonized inflation drops in February
Harmonized inflation came in at 2.7% in February, which was down from January’s 3.1%. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose at a more moderate rate in February, while prices for transportation increased at a stronger pace.
Annual average harmonized inflation fell to 3.2% in February (January: 3.7%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 2.8% in February, from January’s 3.2%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.94% from the previous month in February, accelerating from the 0.16% rise seen in January. February’s figure marked the highest reading since July 2023.
