Netherlands: Harmonized inflation increases in May
Harmonized inflation edged up to 2.7% in May from April’s 2.6%, rising above the Euro area average of 2.6%. The uptick was driven by rising price pressures for recreation, hospitality and transportation.
Annual average harmonized inflation fell to 2.5% in May (April: 2.8%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation was unchanged, coming in at April’s 2.7% in May.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.29% in May over the previous month, coming in below April’s 1.06% rise. May’s result marked the weakest reading since January.
