Nigeria: Inflation inches down in April
Consumer prices rose 0.97% month-on-month in April, down from March’s 1.56% increase. The print reflected a softer rise in food prices.
Inflation dropped from 18.2% in March to 18.1% in April. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up as annual average inflation came in at 15.0% in April from 14.6% in March. Moreover, core consumer prices, which exclude volatile agricultural produce, rose 1.0% month-on-month in April (March: 1.1%), while core inflation stable t March’s 12.7% in April.
