Panama: Economic activity growth wanes in December
Economic activity expanded 7.5% year on year in December (November: +8.1% yoy). Economic activity slowed pace amid weaker copper exports, electricity production and Panama Canal volumes. That said, oil consumption, construction activity and hospitality sales increased at a brisker pace.
Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of economic activity coming in at 10.8% in December, down from November’s 11.2%.
