Panama: Inflation comes in at highest level since January in August
Inflation rose to 2.2% in August, following July’s 0.6%. August’s result was the highest inflation rate since January. Looking at the details of the release, housing and energy prices rose at a quicker pace in August compared to the previous month, while price pressures for clothing and footwear softened.
Annual average inflation remained at July’s 1.4% in August.
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.23% over the previous month in August, contrasting the 0.03% fall logged in July. August’s figure was the highest reading since January.
