Panama: Inflation comes in at highest level since January in September
Inflation increased to 2.3% in September, slightly above August’s 2.2%. September’s reading marked the highest inflation rate since January. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose at a faster rate in September. In contrast, prices for clothing and footwear contracted at a broadly steady pace compared to the previous month’s reading.
Meanwhile, annual average inflation remained at August’s 1.4% in September.
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.13% from the previous month in September, coming in below August’s 0.23% rise.
