Panama: Inflation continues to tumble in December
Consumer prices fell 0.4% month-on-month in December, matching November’s print. According to the National Comptroller’s Office (Contraloría General de la República), lower prices for transport; furniture; alcohol and tobacco; and housing, water, electricity and gas drove the reading.
Inflation sharply declined to 0.2% in December, from 0.8% in November. Annual average inflation, meanwhile, was stable at November’s 0.8% in December.
