Panama: Inflation rises in July
Inflation came in at 0.6% in July, swinging from June’s 0.6% year-on-year drop in consumer prices. Looking at details of the release, price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages, clothing and footwear, and housing and energy softened. Meanwhile, transport prices declined less than in the prior month.
Annual average inflation ticked down to 1.4% in July (June: 1.6%).
Lastly, consumer prices dropped 0.03% over the previous month in July, swinging from the 0.05% increase logged in June. July’s result marked the weakest reading since August 2022.
