Panama: Inflation remains at lowest level since July 2023 in July
Inflation dipped to 0.8% in July, down from June’s 0.9%. July’s figure represented the weakest inflation rate since July 2023. The reading was largely due to sharply lower price pressures for housing and utilities. Meanwhile, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages plus transportation rose at quicker rates compared to the prior month.
Annual average inflation remained at June’s 1.6% in July.
Lastly, consumer prices dropped 0.13% from the previous month in July, a more moderate drop than the 0.31% fall logged in June.
