Panama: Inflation accelerates in April
Consumer prices increased 0.12% over the previous month in April, slowing down from March’s 0.43% increase. April’s slowdown came amid lower prices for tobacco and alcoholic beverages. In addition, transportation prices grew at a much slower pace.
Inflation came in at 1.7% in April, significantly up from March’s 0.3%. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up, with the annual average variation of consumer prices coming in at minus 1.3% in April, up from March’s minus 1.7%.
