Peru: Business confidence weakens slightly in November
The business confidence indicator dropped to 62.6 in November, down from October’s over four-year high of 64.1. Despite the slight decline, the indicator remains well above the 50-point threshold that separates optimism from pessimism, indicating that businesses grew more optimistic in November.
Driving the downturn in business sentiment was firms’ less favorable assessment of their current business situation and less optimistic expectations about the economic situation in the next three and 12 months. On the other hand, firms were more optimistic about their demand and hiring prospects in the next three months and they also had an improved assessment of current levels of production and sales.
