Peru: Business sentiment closes 2019 on a hopeful note
The business confidence indicator rose from November’s 49.7 points to 51.0 points in December. Thus, the indicator moved above the 50-point threshold that separates pessimism from optimism, below which it had remained for six consecutive months.
December’s uptick chiefly reflected improved expectations on the general economic situation in the next 3 and 12 months as well as rosier businesses perceptions of the conditions of the sector in the next 3 months. On the other hand, the outlook on the company in the short-term deteriorated somewhat, as did demand prospects both for the short- and medium-term.
