Peru: Business confidence falls in March
Business confidence dropped to 39.0 in March from 44.5 in February, marking the worst reading since September 2021. Therefore, the index moved further below the 50-threshold, indicating worsening pessimism among businesses.
The deteriorated reading came amid broad-based declines in most sub-sectors in March. Looking at the details, firms’ views regarding their sector, future demand for their products, the employment situation, and investment in their firms all fell this month.
