Peru: Economic activity bounces back in March
Economic activity increased 0.2% year on year in March (February: -0.5% yoy). March’s figure was largely driven by faster growth in the commerce sector. Moreover, activity in the manufacturing sector gained pace, while mining and hydrocarbons production expanded. In contrast, the agricultural sector fell.
On a monthly basis, economic activity was flat in March (February: +0.7% mom). Meanwhile, annual average economic activity growth fell to 1.7% in March (February: +2.0%), pointing to a worsening trend.
