Peru: Inflation decreases in July
Inflation came in at 2.1% in July, which was down from June’s 2.3%, driven by lower price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages. As such, inflation remained in line with the Central Bank’s 1.0–3.0% target.
Annual average inflation fell to 3.3% in July (June: 3.6%).
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.24% in July over the previous month, picking up from the 0.12% increase logged in June. July’s figure was the highest reading since March, but was well below market expectations.
