Peru: Inflation jumps in April
Consumer prices rose 0.97% in April over the previous month, decelerating from March’s 1.48% jump. April’s reading was the eleventh consecutive month of rising prices.
Inflation came in at 8.0% in April, which was up from March’s 6.8% and marked the highest reading since May 1998. Concurrently, annual average inflation rose to 5.4% in April (March: 4.9%), while core inflation rose to 4.6% in March, from February’s 4.2%.
