Peru: Inflation rises in March
Consumer prices increased 0.84% in March over the previous month, swinging from the 0.13% fall recorded in February. March’s figure marked the sharpest increase in prices since March 2017, and was predominantly driven by a spike in food and beverage prices.
Inflation inched up to 2.6% in March, slightly above February’s 2.4%. Meanwhile, annual average inflation edged up to 2.0% in March (February: 1.9%), while core inflation ticked up to 1.7% from the previous month’s 1.6%.
