Philippines: Inflation steady in April
Consumer prices dropped a seasonally-adjusted 0.08% over the previous month in April, a softer drop than the 0.23% fall seen in March. April’s softer drop, was chiefly owing to a weaker decline in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Inflation was stable at March’s 4.5% in April. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up slightly, with annual average inflation coming in at 3.3% in April (March: 3.1%). Lastly, core inflation fell to 3.3% in April from the previous month’s 3.5% increase.
