Poland: Business confidence improves in the first month of 2021, albeit remains in pessimistic territory
Manufacturing-sector business confidence came in at minus 9.9 in January, up from December’s minus 14.8. As a result, the index moved closer to the 0-threshold, but still indicated pessimism among businesses.
Januarys improvement largely came on the back of firms less pessimistic expectations of the future general economic situation, production levels, order books, employment as well as their future personal financial situation. Moreover, manufacturers views of the current general economic situation and their order books also turned less negative compared to the previous month.
