Poland: Businesses confidence at nearly ten-year high in March
In March, sentiment in the manufacturing sector jumped, according to the Business Tendency Survey released by the Central Statistical Office (GUS-BTS). The business climate indicator rose from February’s 16.2 to 18.7, the highest reading since May 2008. As a result, business confidence moved further above the zero-point mark that separates optimism from pessimism in the manufacturing sector.
March’s reading was the result of an improvement in assessments of both the current and future expected economic situation. Respondents had a more optimistic assessment of the current production which more than offset a less optimistic assessment of the current financial situation. Moreover, they grew far more optimistic about future order books and production levels.
