Poland: Business confidence improves but remains pessimistic in December
Manufacturing-sector business confidence came in at minus 14.8 in December, up notably from November’s minus 20.5. As a result, the index moved closer to the 0-threshold, but still indicated pessimism among businesses.
December’s improvement largely came on the back of firms’ less pessimistic expectations of the future general economic situation, production levels, order books, employment as well as their future personal financial situation. Moreover, manufacturers’ views of the current general economic situation also turned less negative. Meanwhile, their appraisal of their current production levels, order books as well as of their personal financial situation soured.
