Poland: Business confidence rises but remains pessimistic in February
Business confidence came in at minus 10.7 in February, up from January’s minus 12.4. Nevertheless, the index remained entrenched below the 0-threshold, indicating sustained pessimism among businesses.
February’s improvement was largely attributed to firms’ turning less pessimistic regarding the current economic situation, while their appraisal of current orderbooks and production also grew slightly less bleak. With regards to expectations, businesses turned less negative over future production, while expectations over orderbooks and employment were slightly less pessimistic compared to the prior month. However, expectations for the future general economic situation grew more pessimistic.
