Poland: Business confidence sours in October
Manufacturing-sector business confidence came in at minus 9.7 in October, down from September’s minus 6.2. As a result, the index remained below the 0-threshold, separating pessimism from optimism among businesses.
October’s downturn largely came on the back of firms’ more negative assessment of the future general economic situation as well as their personal financial situation. In addition, their future expectation of order books, production levels and employment also turned more pessimistic compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, firms’ perception of the current economic situation, order books and production levels turned less negative than in September.
