Poland: Economic sentiment increases to long-term average in August
Economic sentiment came in at 100.0 in August, up from July’s 99.7. Consequently, the index reached the long-term average of 100, pointing to an upbeat near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected healthier sentiment in the industrial and retail sectors. Less positively, August saw weaker sentiment in the construction sector plus waning confidence in the services sector and among consumers.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated, while the economic uncertainty index increased in August.
