Poland: Economic sentiment falls in July
Economic sentiment came in at 99.6 in July, down from June’s 101.4. July’s result marked the weakest sentiment since December 2023. As a result, the index dipped below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected persistently weak sentiment in the industrial sector and dampened sentiment in the construction sector. Additionally, confidence in the services sector and among consumers softened in July. More positively, sentiment in the retail sector increased in the surveyed month.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were healthier, while the economic uncertainty index decreased in July.
