Poland: Decline in industrial output softens in August
Industrial production decreased 2.0% year on year in August (July: -2.3% yoy). The reading was largely driven by a weaker contraction in mining and quarrying output. Meanwhile, manufacturing production continued to expand at a stable clip.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production rose 0.9% in August (July: -1.0% mom), the best result since November 2022. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 11.0%, down from July’s minus 10.1%.
