Poland: Industrial activity falls at sharpest pace since April in September
Industrial production dropped 3.1% year on year in September (August: -1.9% yoy). The result marked the worst reading since April. Looking at the details of the release, mining and quarrying output contracted at a softer pace in September, while the drop in manufacturing output worsened.
On a monthly basis, industrial production increased 0.9% in seasonally adjusted terms in September, matching August’s expansion.. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 12.0% in September, down from August’s minus 10.9%.
