Poland: Industrial activity rebounds in January
Industrial output grew 1.6% in year-on-year terms in January, which contrasted December’s 3.5% decrease. Looking at the details of the release, manufacturing output rebounded, while mining and quarrying output contracted at a sharper clip in January.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production decreased 0.2% in January (December: +0.5% mom). Meanwhile, the trend improved modestly, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 10.4% in January, up from December’s minus 11.5% reading.
