Poland: Growth in industrial output strengthens notably in February
According to the Central Statistical Office (GUS), industrial production increased 7.4% in February from the same month last year, losing some steam from January’s remarkable 8.6% expansion. Driving the result were increases in the manufacturing and the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning sub-sectors. Particularly strong growth was recorded in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products and of metal products. Mining and quarrying output, on the other hand, continued to contract.
Annual average growth in industrial output came in at a multi-year high of 7.0% in February, up from January’s 6.5%.
