Poland: Industrial output rebounds solidly in September
Industrial output jumped 5.6% year-on-year in September, contrasting the 1.3% drop recorded in August, according to the Central Statistical Office (GUS). September’s turnaround largely reflected a rebound in manufacturing output, particularly in the manufacture of other transport equipment, electrical equipment and of beverages. Moreover, the electric and gas utilities sector bounced back in the month, as did the mining and quarrying sector. Moreover, the tiny water supply, and sewerage waste management sector recorded strong growth.
Consequently, annual average growth in industrial output rose to 4.8% in September from August’s 4.6%, which had marked the weakest record since June 2017.
