Poland: Industrial output growth eases in May
Industrial output increased 29.8% compared to the same month a year earlier in May, which followed April’s 44.2% increase. Looking at the details of the release, May’s moderation largely reflected a softer expansion in manufacturing output. That said, mining and quarrying production increased in May, as did electricity, gas and utilities output. Meanwhile, the trend improved notably, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at plus 10.2%, up from April’s 6.3% reading.
On a monthly basis, factory output increased 0.8% in seasonally-adjusted terms in May, contrasting April’s 0.6% fall.
