Poland: Inflation declines further in March
Consumer prices dropped 0.1% in March, following February’s 0.2% drop. March’s result was driven by a decrease in the prices for fuels and electricity and gas.
In March, inflation decreased for the fourth consecutive month and came in at an over one-year low of 1.3%, marginally below February’s 1.4%. It thus moved further below the Central Bank’s 2.5% plus or minus 1.0 percentage point target band. Meanwhile, annual average inflation was stable in March at February’s 1.9%.
Core consumer prices remained flat over the previous month in March, matching February’s reading. Meanwhile, core inflation inched down to 0.7% from February’s 0.8%.
