Poland: Inflation increases in May
Inflation rose to 2.5% in May, up from April’s 2.4%. The rise was primarily driven by quicker growth in prices for housing and utilities, coupled with rebounding price pressures for transportation. That said, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages grew at a softer pace.
Annual average inflation fell to 6.1% in May (April: 7.0%).
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.10% in May over the previous month, moderating from April’s 1.10% increase. May’s result marked the weakest reading since December 2023.
