Poland: Inflation climbs in June
Consumer prices grew 0.1% on a month-on-month basis in June, easing from May’s 0.2% rise. June’s result came on the back of higher prices for transport. Meanwhile, lower food prices moderated the rise. Core consumer prices rose 0.1% on a monthly basis.
Inflation edged higher, to a revised 2.0% (previously reported: 1.9%) from 1.7% in May—remaining below the midpoint of the Central Bank’s target band of 2.5% plus or minus 1.0 percentage point. Meanwhile, annual average inflation climbed to 1.9% from 1.8% in May. Core inflation ticked up to 0.6% from 0.5%.
