Poland: Inflation rises in June
Consumer prices grew 0.1% on a monthly basis in June, easing from May’s 0.2% rise. June’s result was driven entirely by higher fuel prices, while utility prices ticked down marginally. Food prices, meanwhile, were stable from a month earlier.
Inflation edged higher to 1.9% from 1.7%, remaining within the Central Bank’s target band of 2.5% plus or minus 1.0 percentage point. Meanwhile, annual average inflation ticked up to 1.9% from 1.8%.
In May, the latest month for which data is available, core consumer prices fell 0.1% on a monthly basis. Core inflation ticked down to 0.5% from 0.6%.
