Poland: Inflation stable in August
According to a flash estimate released by Statistics Poland, consumer prices were unchanged on a month-on-month basis in August, following July’s 0.2% decrease. Rising prices for electricity, gas and other fuels were largely balanced out by lower prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Inflation was stable in August at July’s 2.0%, remaining below the midpoint of the Central Bank’s target band of 2.5% plus or minus 1.0 percentage point. Annual average inflation was also unchanged at July’s 1.9%.
