Poland: Inflation stable in August
Consumer prices were stable from a month earlier in August, on the heels of a 0.2% month-on-month drop in July. August’s reading showed higher services prices offset by lower goods prices—including food, as well as clothing and footwear. Core consumer prices ticked up 0.1% on a month-on-month basis (July: -0.1% month-on-month).
Inflation was stable for another month at 2.0% in August, remaining below the midpoint of the Central Bank’s target range of 2.5% plus or minus 1.0 percentage point. Core inflation rose to 0.9% from 0.6% in July, while annual average inflation was unchanged at 1.9%.
