Poland: Inflation stable in July
Consumer prices dropped 0.1% on a month-on-month basis in July, contrasting June’s 0.1% rise. July’s result came on the back of lower prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. Meanwhile, higher prices for fuels and personal transport equipment moderated the fall. Core consumer prices also dipped 0.1% on a month-on-month basis (June: +0.1% month-on-month).
Inflation was stable in July at June’s 2.0%, remaining below the midpoint of the Central Bank’s target band of 2.5% plus or minus 1.0 percentage point. Core inflation was also stable from a month earlier, at 0.6%. Lastly, annual average inflation was unchanged at June’s 1.9%.
