Poland: Manufacturing PMI increases further in October
The S&P Global Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) came in at 44.5 in Octoebr, up from 43.9 in September. Consequently, the index remained entrenched below the 50-threshold, signaling a softer deterioration in business conditions in the manufacturing sector from the prior month.
Softer contractions in new orders and employment were behind the uptick in the headline reading. These more than offset faster contractions in output, backlogs and purchasing activity. On the price front, input prices continued to decline, albeit at a slower pace than in September, as did output prices. Lastly, business expectations for the year ahead strengthened to the highest level since 2022.
