Poland: Manufacturing PMI increases in September
The S&P Global Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) came in at 43.9 in September, up from 43.1 in August. Consequently, the index remained entrenched below the 50-threshold, signaling a softer deterioration in business conditions in the manufacturing sector from the prior month.
Softer contractions in output, new orders and purchasing were behind the uptick in the headline reading. On the price front, input prices continued to decline, albeit at a slower pace than in August, as did output prices. Lastly, business expectations for the year ahead strengthened to the highest level since March.
